This site is set in a beautiful park about 15 minutes' walk from the centre of the popular seaside resort of Ayr. Entertainments cater for all ages. Ayrshire is known as 'The Golf Coast' because of the 40 courses in the area. You can learn about 'Rabbie Burns', the greatest Scottish poet with the Burns Heritage Trail right on the doorstep and The Tam O'Shanter Experience at Alloway. History fans will enjoy Vikingar at Largs, with its tales of Viking days of yore, and there are many more treats not far away.

This award-winning pretty little site, with its colourful rosebeds and flowering shrubs is an excellent base for exploring this lovely part of South West Scotland. Family facilities include a well-equipped play area for children and, for a small fee, you can use the complex's heated indoor pool, sauna, & gymnasium. You can also obtain a licence to fish the well-stocked trout pool locally. There are many secluded beaches and attractive villages to explore and whilst in Burns Country you can follow in his footsteps on the Heritage Trail. A coastal drive brings you to lovely unspoilt villages, and for fun, drive up Croy Brae: it appears you're going up, but take your foot off the brake and you roll forwards! It's an optical illusion.

Camping in Glen Rosa offers a different experience to the usual sites found in Scotland and on Arran. Most campsites are situated in a limited space and many have the facilities of modern day hotels. Glen Rosa Campsite is sited over a very large area of natural ground; the location is exceptional, next to the Glen Rosa track, which leads to the Arran Hills, including the highest, Goatfell. There is a body of water (the Rosa Burn) that flows through the campsite. Facilities are very basic, wash hand basins, toilets and bins. Cold, drinkable water is available. There is no hot water, showers or electric hook ups. The site is not suitable for caravans or mobile homes.

The campsite at Glen Rosa offers campers the chance to camp in a unique location, known as a SSSI site (Site of Special Scientific Interest) made so by the geology, flora and fauna that make up the Glen. Due to the sensitivity of the area, campers are required to use litterbins, keep noise to a minimum, respect other campers and keep their camps within the confines of the site. Campers that fail to obey these rules will be removed. The Glen Rosa site is the only one in Brodick; Glen Rosa is two miles (3km) outside of the village. It takes roughly 40 minutes to walk from the pier, however there is a good bus service. Buses coincide with the arrival of the ferries from both Brodick and Lochranza. Ask the driver to stop at the Glen Rosa road.

From Brodick Pier, turn right into Brodick village and continue past the co-op, the guest houses, golf club and Heritage Museum at the junction carry on straight ahead following the signs to Blackwaterfoot, 100 yards on the right is the Glen Rosa track. Book in at the farmhouse (first house on the left immediately on the roadside after the bridge.)

Crofthead is one of Ayrshire's premier, four star parks offering a relaxing and peaceful ambience, surrounded by beautiful rural Ayrshire though only a mere two miles from Ayr town centre.The McCormack family ensure that 'family values' and a 'traditional caravanning' atmosphere are retained despite the remarkable upgrading the park has seen since they bought it in 2001.

All hire vans are 'top of the range' and "Thistle Awarded". Each holiday home is superbly equipped and along with one log cabin, they are all centrally heated and double glazed. All touring pitches are fully serviced and all are hard standing.
2006 saw a major refurbishment of the toilet blocks. There is a well serviced laundry and shop which is open seven days.

Heads of Ayr Caravan Park is situated 5 miles South of Ayr and 2 miles north of the quaint Fishing village of Dunure on the A719 in the Heart of Burns Country.

The Park has been owned by the Semple family for over 38 years. We aim to provide families and small parties excluding unaccompanied youth parties a friendly and enjoyable holiday in one of the most scenic areas of Scotland.

On site we have 126 static caravans, most of which are privately owned. The park caters for 36 tourers (seasonal and holiday) and tents. All pitches have electric hook up and are mainly on grass pitches. Heads of Ayr have a small number of static caravans which are hired out for holidays, including a chalet bungalow.

The park is open between March and October, weekends during winter and 2 weeks at Christmas and New Year.
