Blinkbonny Wood

Blinkbonny wood is a mixed pine and broadleaf woodland. About a third of the woodland is mature pine, a smaller area of mixed broadleaves, the remainder of the wood was replanted after felling in in 2002.

It has been owned by the Wray family since November 2002. We have replanted the felled areas, restored the paths in the wood, and developed a small craft & education centre. We hope that the wood will be an attractive place for people to pursue woodland craft courses, or simply come for a walk.

People
The Wray family is Steven & Sally and their three children - Christopher (22), Ben (18) Rebecca (7)

Animals
The family also includes Sam the Border Collie and Jaffa & Tango - two ponies who live a Blinkbonny. We also have hens and ducks but they dont have names.

Where are we?

Blinkbonny is on the edge of the Lammermuirs overlooking the Firth of Forth. The postal code for the area is EH41 4PL and the closest village town is Gifford. We are seven miles from Haddington, and about thirty miles from Edinburgh by road.

Drum Mohr Caravan Park

The Drum Mohr Park itself was originally the walled garden of a monastery - and much of the original tranquil atmosphere has remained intact. Sheltered and wooded on all sides, this secluded park is mainly level and carefully landscaped, including the planting of some 1500 trees and shrubs. It has an extensive view on its northern aspect of the Firth of Forth.

All pitches are generously spaced and are within easy reach of drinking water and waste disposal points. Two separate and fully tiled toilet blocks have been built to an exceptionally high standard. Incorporated in each is a chemical toilet disposal point and a fully equipped laundry room.

Other on-site services include late arrivals area, electric hook-up points, hard standings and serviced pitches, pay phone, Camping Gaz, Calor Gas and a well stocked shop. For the disabled, toilet and shower facilities are provided and all doorways have ramped access. Dogs are allowed if kept on a lead and under control at all times.

Your host, William Melville, lives on the site to ensure the closest possible attention to your requirements. To assist in this aim, visitor information, local brochures and leaflets are available at reception.

For further information on any aspect of your visit, please contact the park. We look forward to welcoming you to Drum Mohr - one of Scotland's premier touring parks.
